Love - Giving Pleasure

Giving pleasure is certainly a prerequisite for Love and requires the following attributes -

  • Being helpful and considerate
  • Showing trust
  • Give of yourself and possessions
  • Know when to act and when not to
  • Know what pleases your partner

These attributes can be displayed in many relationship type scenarios but you must remember that you are not giving your partner pleasure based on what pleases you (if I like it then they will), but on what pleases them (If they are happy, then I am).

In order to determine what pleases your partner, you should be observing their likes and dislikes - watch what they do and how they do it regarding everything from getting up in the morning to resting at night -

  • What are their favourite colours?
  • Their pastimes
  • Gifts that they would like to receive
  • Do they like to travel?
  • Do they enjoy eating out? Where - McDonalds, quiet romantic restaurant, 5-star hotel?
  • What do they like to eat?
  • What are they most comfortable wearing? Jeans and T-shirt, tracksuit, shorts / dress pants and shirt?
  • What sort of weather do they enjoy most - Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter?
  • Do they like to party the night away? Are they a night owl?
  • Are they physically active or a couch potato?
  • Are they happy in their work and play?
  • Do they know the same about you and do you compliment each other?

All of the above leads to 'giving pleasure' and if you have both taken the time to find answers to the above, you can dream up all sorts of situations (based on your likes and dislikes), that you would both enjoy for many years.
